One of the first technology innovations to be introduced by MQP was the Opticast system which is a unique methodology for the in line control and optimisation of grain refinement. OptiFine, highly potent and cost effective TiBAl rod grain refiners, now complement this technology.
In 2005 MQP launched Batchpilot, a novel, patented, system for accurate electronic measurement of furnace heel weights and transfer weights.
MQP promotes environmentally friendly solutions and the Refinal range of fused granular refining agents provides an effective means of removing alkalis and inclusions particularly when used in cojunction with the STAS rotary flux injector. MQP also markets other STAS equipment including the Alcan compact degasser (ACD) and the inert gas cooler (IGDC).
OptiFilter is a novel, patented, system for delivering ultra high filtration efficiency at least comparable to the best filter bed practice and without the high cost and practical difficulties and suitable for frequent alloy changing and short production runs.
MQP has developed this equipment in partnership with Trimet Aluminium, Drache, N-Tec and the University of Delft and it is now undergoing extensive production testing.
The XC Filter is a novel patented three chamber filtration system incorporating a mini bed in the third chamber, suitable for medium to long production runs which resulted from co-operation with Hydro Research & Development group in Bonn. The system has been succesfully used for extended casting periods during proof of concept testing at a major casthouse in Germany.
New product lines introduced in 2010 include the Alspek H hydrogen analyser and Moduloc Digital Laser Level Sensor. |
